Blueberries are a great addition to any matcha smoothie. Not only are they the healthiest of the berries—they contain a flavonoid called anthocyanin that has a potent antioxidant effect—they’re also a delicious addition to matcha smoothies because their sweetness counteracts the mild bitterness of green tea.

Blueberries are linked to a decreased risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, and they’re known to promote healthy hair and skin. Combined with the powerful energy boost you get from matcha, this Berry Good Morning Smoothie is a healthy and delicious way to start your day!  


  • ½ cup cold orange juice
  • 1 tsp. matcha
  • 2 tsp. warm water
  • ⅓ cup chopped strawberries
  • ⅓ cup blueberries
  • ½ banana, sliced


  1. Mix matcha and warm water until blended.
  2. Add all ingredients into a blender and run until smooth.
  3. If needed, add more orange juice or water for a thinner smoothie.
  4. Enjoy.

Makes 1 smoothie.
